Greetings From Fraser and Bruce

Fraser, Bruce and the Davy Special

I received this card in the mail yesterday and thought it worth sharing. It's the 21st annual Christmas card from Fraser Earle. In the passenger seat of the Davy Special is Bruce (Broose?) the Moose, who has been a presence for the other 20 cards as well. Last year I received the card where Fraser and Bruce the Moose portrayed the grizzled farming couple in the Grant Wood's painting "American Gothic." Again the jolliest elf in all of Mississauga, in a white beard and red union suit, and the moose, who apparently consented to wear a wig for the part of the farmer's wife.

New Cannondale Edition?

Ex-military surf buggy

Volvo's Dan Johnston sent us this pic with the caption, "Just when you thought we couldn't do better..." In these days when "retro" styling is all the craze, we figure this must be a sneak peek at the 2003 Cross Country. Thanks, Dan!

Kudos from Los Angeles
My first time at your website, and I'm mightily impressed. Loved the Glen story, and not only because I built and raced Rick Kushner's 122S out here in LaLa land. I was in the Volvo Marketing Group from 1967-1979. No one back then EVER dreamed of Volvo products racing in the then-unknown Vintage category.

Thanks again for the entertainment. "Ya did gud."

Thunderhill Track Day Redux
Hello Volvo race fans! As you may have guessed from the subject title we are going to have another go at Thunderhill Raceway! This will be in the same time period as we ran there last year and we are hoping for similar good weather; not too hot! The feedback I got from our failed attempt at an August track day was that high summer in Willows was not everyone's cup of tea. We are hoping for a better response in April.

The plan is again to have the event on the Monday after the big Davis swap meet scheduled for Sunday the 28th of April. Again the cost will be $150 per driver. We will need to sign a contract with Thunderhill in January, so we want to have at least $75 down payment by then.

Lee [Cordner] has received much interest from other marque clubs in running with us on the 29th, however we do not want to offer any of the track time to them until all the Volvo Club members have a shot at registering for the day. If we get 60 Volvos, it will be a Volvo only day. If less than 60 people sign up, we will get the other clubs involved which would be fun as well.

Let me know as soon as you can if you think you will be attending. Send your registration check payable to:
