1956 PV444 Vintage Classic. I recently purchased this 1956 PV444 with 103,745 original miles from a Volvo dealer in Tucson, AZ, that had kept it as his prize after purchasing it back from the original owner. This PV444 has the original B14B engine with twin SU carburetors which I have had rebuilt and Pennspeed modified, and a 3-speed manual floor shift. The ID plate shows Type P-44408, VIN/chassis 111846, utv color 33, inv color 33, interior color 112. This First Year Import has a good repaint with no rust and the interior has been completely re-upholstered but not in original materials. There are minor chips in the paint and the age shows in the chrome and stainless steel. This gem runs wonderfully smooth and has real pep since the carburetor modification. All gauges function. The engine is tight and smooth running with absolutely no smoke. The car drives strong and tracks straight. Remember, this PV444 was built in Goteborg, Sweden, and came over on a ship over 45 years ago. The car weighs in at 2140 lbs., engine is rated at 70 horsepower, has a 6 volt electrical system, 15" tires and a 9-1/2 gallon fuel tank. Included is an original sales brochure, tool kit, and jack. This Classic Beauty is A True "Survivor", A Conversation Piece, and A Head Turner. If you've ever wanted a First Year U.S. Import Volvo, well here's your chance. I do have an appraisal on this car and expect the sale price to come be close to that. $7,500. Click for Photo.
