Subject: RE: Thunderdome: attaching movie clips Date: Thu, 17 Jan 2002 17:09:51 -0800 From: "Henry Y. Lee" To: "Thunderdome" attachMovie is supported in LM2. I'm attaching a file to this e-mail as well. First create your movieClip like you would normally. To set the clip up to be "attachable," open up the export settings. Select your object. In the palette, click on the bouncing ball tab. Click on the box next to "Attachable." Once you've clicked on this, click on other objects as well. You'll notice that the check mark goes away. This setting is for each individual object. Ok, now go find the to be attachable movie clip. With that selected, give it a name that you want to use when you want to attach it. This can be the same name as you've named it in the timeline. This will make the movie clip attachable. Now, to actually attach the movie clip, create a button. In the down state, type: _root.attachMovie("", "", 0); The result might be something like: _root.attachMovie("extClip", "attached00", 0); Now every time you click on the button, you will attach extClip to the timeline with an instance name of attached00. See the attached file as an example. > -----Original Message----- > From: owner-external_thunderdome@adobe.com > [mailto:owner-external_thunderdome@adobe.com]On Behalf Of Dan Riley > Sent: Thursday, January 17, 2002 4:14 PM > To: Thunderdome > Subject: RE: Thunderdome: attaching movie clips > > > But is there a way that you can reference a movie to load that > isn't already > in the compositions timeline.
